- This is an e-bike rental service featuring sport-type electric-assist bicycles. In Eco mode, it can travel approximately 85 km (manufacturer catalog specification). It’s perfect for touring the hilly streets of Kōka City. The assist power propels you up hills effortlessly to ensure an optimal cycling experience.
- Bicycles will be transported to your desired location within Kōka City.Please specify your preferred location, such as a hotel or station.
- Please return the bicycle by locking it at the JR station bicycle parking lot within Kōka City.

Maximum rental of 6 bicycles. For 3 or more, the rental fee per bicycle is ¥5,500.

Mountain Side Company Bicycle Rental Terms of Use
These Terms of Use designate the rules you must follow when using our rental bicycles. Please agree to the following and enjoy your ride.
1. Reservation and Application
Reservations are required in advance. Please make your reservation by the day before your intended use date (excluding regular holidays). When using the service, please fill out the Application Form with the necessary details and submit it by email or other means. On the day of use, we may ask you to present identification (driver’s license, health insurance card, student ID, passport, etc.) that confirms your name and address. Rental fees are calculated on a per-day basis. Please note that even if you rent in the afternoon, it will be charged as a full day.
*Your personal information will only be used for our rental bicycle services and for emergency contact purposes in case of an accident.
2. Rental Fees
Please refer to our rental bicycle information for rental fees. Please pay the fee corresponding to the number of rented bicycles in advance.
3. Bicycle Rental
When renting a bicycle, a staff member will give you instructions on proper bicycle use. Please listen to the instructions and inspect the bicycle with the staff member.
・Brakes, handlebars, gears, tire pressure, saddle height, etc.
4. Bicycle Return
Please return the bicycle to the pre-designated location during the operating hours specified at the time of application.
If you cannot return it during operating hours, an extension fee will apply: ¥1,000 per 60 minutes (tax not included).
Should you attempt to return the bicycle to a non-designated location, you will be charged the actual cost incurred for its transportation.
Base fee: ¥3,000 per bicycle + ¥100 per kilometer for round-trip distance required for retrieval (tax not included).
5. Accidents
If an accident occurs during the rental period, please promptly notify us of the date, time, location, cause, and circumstances of the accident. If necessary, take any actions required by law, such as contacting the police. We assume no responsibility whatsoever for the accident.
6. Bicycle Malfunction or Damage
If your bicycle malfunctions or is damaged during the rental period, please contact us immediately. If you have the bicycle repaired at a bicycle shop without our prior approval, we cannot cover the repair costs. However, we will cover the cost of puncture repairs only if you contact us for approval before the repair.
For bicycle malfunctions or damage occurring during your use that result from usage outside the permitted scope (as defined in the Terms of Use), we will generally charge you the actual repair costs incurred. Furthermore, if we are unable to conduct rental operations due to malfunctions or repairs caused by usage outside the permitted scope (as defined in the Terms of Use), we may require you to bear the cost for the period during which operations were unavailable.
Please note that we shall not be liable for any damages incurred by the customer or third parties, such as schedule delays or missed connections, resulting from bicycle malfunctions or similar issues.
7. Bicycle Theft and Loss
If your bicycle is stolen or lost during the rental period, please contact us immediately. If the theft or loss occurs due to circumstances attributable to the customer, such as leaving the bicycle unlocked, the customer will be responsible for the actual costs incurred. Furthermore, if the bicycle is left in a no-parking zone or similar area and is subsequently moved or stored, the customer will be responsible for the full cost of any expenses incurred to retrieve it.
8. Loss or Damage of Bike Lock
If you lose or damage your bicycle key, a replacement fee of ¥1,500 (excluding tax) will be charged.
9. Use Outside Permitted Scope
When using our rental bicycles, please refrain from the following actions.
Engaging in any of the actions listed below will be considered unauthorized use. We assume no responsibility whatsoever for accidents, malfunctions, or damage resulting from unauthorized use. Furthermore, liability insurance will not apply.
(1) Riding while under the influence of alcohol or drugs
(2) Riding in violation of traffic laws
(3) Riding off paved roads, such as lakeshores, forests, riverbanks, or stairs
(4) Riding between sunset and sunrise
(5) Reckless or dangerous driving
(6) Riding the bicycle incorrectly
(7) Parking in areas where bicycles are prohibited or in locations obstructing pedestrian or bicycle traffic
(8) Riding with modifications to the bicycle or its accessories
(9) Continuing to ride after noticing bicycle abnormalities such as a flat tire
(10) Riding by a third party other than the driver listed on the application form
(11) Other riding that violates public order and morals
10. Refusal to Rent
Our company reserves the right to refuse bicycle rentals in the following cases:
(1) When the applicant is deemed likely to use the bicycle outside the designated usage area
(2) When the applicant is deemed to belong to organized crime groups, related organizations, or other antisocial forces
(3) When the rental period coincides with severe weather such as storms, or when such weather is forecasted
(4) When our company deems it otherwise inappropriate
11. Cancellation of Reservations
(1) If you wish to cancel your reservation, please contact us as soon as possible.
Cancellation fees are as follows: 100% of the usage fee for same-day cancellations, 50% for cancellations made the day prior, and 20% for cancellations made 3 days prior or earlier.
(2) If you anticipate being late for your reservation, please contact us before the scheduled time.
If 60 minutes have passed since your reservation time without prior notice, your reservation will be automatically canceled, and a cancellation fee (100% of the usage fee) will be charged.
12. Other
In the event of any matter not covered by these Terms of Use, the customer and the Company shall consult in good faith and endeavor to resolve it.
